Just half a metre and what a difference!
The good, old conical tent raised to new levels by an addition of a 50cm-wide stripe at the rim – a simple trick which allows to increase the amount of space inside without changing the tent’s footprint or significantly increasing the weight of the tarpaulin. This bell tent, inspired by British military tents from the 19th and early 20th century, measures just over 3 m, and has 4.4 m in diameter. The tarpaulin rests on a single pole, topped with a lathe-turned wooden piece, and is firmly secured with 14 spliced hemp guy lines.
